Which Pixar Cars short film features Mater being frightened by a ghostlight?

The story behind the answer

Mater and the Ghostlight is the Pixar Cars short film about Mater being frightened by a ghostlight.

The short was released in 2006 as a companion to Cars and focuses on Mater’s habit of telling exaggerated stories and playing pranks. The other residents of Radiator Springs decide to teach him a lesson by using the local legend of a mysterious blue ghostlight.

A ghostlight is a small light traditionally left burning on a theater stage, but the Cars short uses the idea as a supernatural roadside tale. Mater becomes nervous when the glowing light appears to follow him, turning his own storytelling style against him.

The short is separate from the later Mater’s Tall Tales television series, which features brief, increasingly unlikely adventures narrated by Mater. Its title is sometimes shortened informally, but the credited title is Mater and the Ghostlight.
