Cars 2 was the Pixar Cars movie released in 2011.

Cars 2 opened in theaters in June 2011 as the second feature in the Cars series. It expands the setting beyond Radiator Springs by sending Lightning McQueen and Mater on an international tour for the World Grand Prix.

The film combines competitive racing with a spy adventure. Mater is mistaken for an American agent and becomes entangled with Finn McMissile and Holley Shiftwell, while a conspiracy targets the racers and the fuel used in the competition.

The original Cars was released in 2006, and Cars 3 followed in 2017. Cars 2 is therefore the middle entry in the trilogy, not the final film. It was directed by John Lasseter and co-directed by Brad Lewis.
