Cars 3 introduced Jackson Storm as Lightning McQueen's main racing rival.
Jackson Storm is a next-generation racer whose advanced training and technology make him faster than many veteran Piston Cup competitors. His success forces Lightning to confront the possibility that his traditional approach to racing is no longer enough.
Armie Hammer provides Storm's English voice. The character is designed with a sleek, dark appearance that contrasts with Lightning's older, more rounded race-car design. Their rivalry forms the central sporting conflict of Cars 3.
Jackson Storm should not be confused with Chick Hicks, Lightning's principal rival in the first Cars, or Francesco Bernoulli, the rival associated with Cars 2. Each character belongs to a different racing story and represents a different challenge for Lightning.
