Cars 2 was the first Pixar Cars film to feature the international spy Finn McMissile.
Finn McMissile is a British secret agent who investigates a plot involving the World Grand Prix and the Allinol fuel used by its competitors. He initially mistakes Mater for an American spy, drawing the tow truck into the investigation alongside Holley Shiftwell.
The character gives Cars 2 a strong espionage structure in addition to its racing story. Finn uses spy equipment, disguises, and surveillance technology, while traveling through Tokyo, Porto Corsa, and London. Michael Caine provides Finn's English-language voice.
Cars, the 2006 original, focuses on Lightning McQueen's personal growth in Radiator Springs and has no international spy storyline. Cars 3 returns to a more direct racing-and-mentorship narrative. Cars on the Road is a later Disney+ series, not a film, and does not introduce Finn as the central spy character.
