Cars 2 is the Pixar Cars film set partly in Porto Corsa, Italy.
Porto Corsa is a fictional coastal Italian location used for the second race of the World Grand Prix. The film places the circuit among Mediterranean scenery and presents the race as a major international event. Its visual design draws on the atmosphere of Italian coastal towns while remaining part of the Cars universe.
The film’s other principal World Grand Prix locations are Tokyo and London. This international structure distinguishes Cars 2 from the first Cars film, which focuses mainly on the fictional American town of Radiator Springs, and Cars 3, which returns more strongly to American stock-car racing.
Porto Corsa should not be confused with Portorosso, the fictional Italian town in Pixar’s Luca. Although both names evoke Italy, they belong to different films and settings. Porto Corsa is specifically associated with Cars 2’s racing storyline.
