Cars 2 is the Pixar Cars film set partly in London during an international spy adventure.
The sequel follows Lightning McQueen in the World Grand Prix and Mater after he is mistaken for an undercover agent. Its story moves through Tokyo, Porto Corsa, and London, combining racing with espionage, secret identities, and a conspiracy involving alternative fuel.
Cars 2 was released in 2011 and directed by John Lasseter and Brad Lewis. It expands the franchise beyond the American Southwest of the first film and gives Mater a much larger role in the action. Michael Caine voices British spy Finn McMissile, while Emily Mortimer voices Holley Shiftwell.
Cars is primarily a road-trip story centered on Radiator Springs, and Cars 3 returns to Lightning's racing career and training. Planes is a separate DisneyToon Studios spin-off set in the same general world, but it is not a Pixar Cars film.
