Finn McMissile is a British secret agent voiced by Michael Caine. In the film, he investigates a plot connected to the World Grand Prix and an alternative-fuel scheme. His work brings Lightning McQueen and Mater into an international espionage story spanning locations such as Tokyo, Porto Corsa, and London.
Cars 2 was released in 2011 as the second feature in the Cars franchise. Unlike the original film, which centers on Lightning's personal growth in Radiator Springs, Cars 2 gives Mater a much larger role and blends racing with spy-film conventions.
Finn is sometimes confused with Holley Shiftwell, another British intelligence agent in Cars 2. Finn is the experienced spy who recruits Mater, while Holley is his younger colleague and partner.
