Which Pixar Cars film introduced Francesco Bernoulli?

Cars 2 introduced Francesco Bernoulli.

Francesco Bernoulli is an Italian Formula-style race car and one of Lightning McQueen’s principal rivals in the World Grand Prix. His flamboyant confidence and repeated claims of superiority create a comic rivalry with Lightning during the international competition.

Cars 2 was released in 2011 and broadened the franchise’s setting from the American Southwest to locations including Tokyo, Porto Corsa, and London. The film combines racing with a spy plot involving Mater, making Francesco part of a larger global storyline rather than the original film’s Piston Cup world.

Francesco is voiced by John Turturro in the English version. He is not a character from Cars 3, whose major new racing rival is Jackson Storm. The distinction matters because both characters represent newer generations challenging Lightning McQueen.
