Cars 2 features Lightning McQueen competing against Francesco Bernoulli.
Francesco Bernoulli is an Italian open-wheel race car and one of Lightning’s principal opponents in the World Grand Prix. He is portrayed as fast, confident, and highly competitive, creating a sporting rivalry that runs alongside the film’s international spy story.
Cars 2 was released in 2011 as the second feature in Pixar’s Cars franchise. Its plot expands the setting beyond Radiator Springs, taking Lightning, Mater, and their friends to Japan, Italy, and the United Kingdom. Mater becomes involved with British agents Finn McMissile and Holley Shiftwell after being mistaken for a spy.
Francesco is voiced in the original English version by John Turturro. He is not the antagonist behind the film’s conspiracy: that role belongs to Miles Axlerod and his collaborators. Cars 3 returns to a more racing-focused story centered on Lightning, Jackson Storm, and Cruz Ramirez.
