Which Pixar Cars character is an Italian Formula One racer?

Francesco Bernoulli is the Italian Formula One racer in Pixar’s Cars 2.

Bernoulli competes against Lightning McQueen in the World Grand Prix and is presented as one of the event’s fastest and most confident entrants. His Italian identity, open-wheel design, and Formula One-inspired appearance distinguish him from McQueen’s stock-car style. He is voiced in English by John Turturro.

The character’s self-assured personality creates a direct sporting rivalry with McQueen. Bernoulli’s background includes racing at the Monza circuit, a famous Italian motorsport venue, which helps connect the fictional Cars universe to real racing culture. His design and name also signal the film’s international setting.

Francesco should not be confused with Lewis Hamilton, who voices another racer, or with Jeff Gorvette, an American competitor. Bernoulli is the Italian representative and a principal rival during the World Grand Prix races in Cars 2.
