Feathers McGraw is the disguised bank robber in Wallace & Gromit: The Wrong Trousers.
Feathers is a criminal penguin who rents a room from inventor Wallace while secretly planning a diamond robbery. To conceal his identity, he wears a red rubber glove over his head and pretends to be a chicken. The disguise is a visual joke: the silent character’s apparent identity is accepted by Wallace, despite his penguin shape.
The 1993 stop-motion film was written and directed by Nick Park and produced by Aardman Animations. It won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film and became one of the best-known Wallace and Gromit stories.
Feathers McGraw is sometimes mistakenly remembered as a conventional chicken villain. His species is central to the gag, because the red glove creates the appearance of a comb while he remains visibly penguin-like.
