Which PBS home-improvement series was nominated for Outstanding Instructional / How-To Program in 2026?

The PBS home-improvement series nominated for Outstanding Instructional / How-To Program in 2026 was Ask This Old House.

Ask This Old House is a companion series to This Old House in which experts answer viewer questions and tackle practical repairs, renovations, landscaping, plumbing, electrical work, and woodworking projects. Its instructional format makes it a natural fit for the Daytime Emmy how-to category.

The program began in 2002 as a spin-off of This Old House, which premiered on PBS in 1979 and helped establish the modern home-improvement television genre. Ask This Old House is more focused on individual homeowner problems and shorter expert demonstrations, while the parent program usually follows larger renovation projects.

This Old House itself was also nominated in the same 2026 category, making it an especially easy title to confuse with the stored answer. Room by Room, Property Brothers, and Trading Spaces are related home-improvement programs but were not the nominated title here.
