Visa used the slogan “It’s everywhere you want to be.”
Visa introduced the advertising slogan in 1985, making it one of the company’s best-known brand lines. The phrase promoted the broad acceptance of Visa cards and helped distinguish the network in consumer advertising.
Visa does not generally lend money directly to cardholders. Instead, it operates a global payments network that helps authorize, clear, and settle transactions between consumers, merchants, financial institutions, and governments. Banks issue Visa-branded cards, while merchants accept payments through acquiring institutions and payment processors.
Visa became a publicly traded company in 2008 after being spun out by member financial institutions. Its enormous transaction volume and asset-light network model have helped it become one of the world’s largest companies by market capitalization. Mastercard is the closest common mix-up, but its major historic slogan was “Priceless,” not Visa’s “It’s everywhere you want to be.”
