Which pair finished runner-up to Taylor Townsend and Kateřina Siniaková in the 2026 US Open women’s doubles final?

The story behind the answer

Ashlyn Krueger and Robin Montgomery finished runner-up to Taylor Townsend and Kateřina Siniaková in the 2026 US Open women’s doubles final.

The final ended 5–7, 6–0, 6–2. Krueger and Montgomery won the opening set, but Townsend and Siniaková responded by taking the next two sets without dropping another game in the second.

The runners-up were an American pair and had an especially notable connection to the tournament: Krueger and Montgomery had won the US Open girls’ doubles title in 2021. Their 2026 run therefore marked a return to a final at the same venue in the senior women’s competition.

This result should not be confused with the mixed doubles final, which featured mixed-gender teams and was held in a separate event. Women’s doubles uses two female players on each team.
