Which pair eliminated Serena Williams and Carlos Alcaraz in the 2026 US Open mixed doubles quarterfinals?

Belinda Bencic and Flavio Cobolli eliminated Serena Williams and Carlos Alcaraz in the 2026 US Open mixed doubles quarterfinals.

Bencic and Cobolli won the match 5–4(4), 4–1. Williams and Alcaraz had drawn major attention because they combined one of the most decorated players in tennis history with one of the leading stars of the modern men’s game.

The match was part of the revamped mixed doubles event, whose early rounds used short sets to four games, a tiebreak at four games all and a 10-point deciding tiebreak instead of a traditional third set. That format made the competition faster than a standard Grand Slam doubles match.

Bencic and Cobolli later reached the final, where they lost to the all-Czech team of Karolína Muchová and Jakub Menšík. Williams’s appearance marked her return to competitive US Open tennis after a four-year absence.
