Which organization is the ancient precursor to the Assassins in Assassin's Creed Origins?

The Hidden Ones are the ancient precursor to the Assassins in Assassin's Creed Origins. Bayek and Aya establish the group in the first century BCE to oppose the Order of the Ancients and protect people from abuses of power.

The Hidden Ones operate through secrecy, coded practices, concealed blades, and a creed centered on limiting control over others. Their early organization provides the historical foundation for the Assassin Brotherhood seen in later periods of the series.

A common mix-up is confusing the Hidden Ones with the Order of the Ancients. The Hidden Ones are the protagonists' organization, while the Order is their enemy and later develops into the Templar tradition. Origins deliberately shows this transition as part of its story about the beginning of Assassin ideology.
