Which object contains the Resurrection Stone in the Harry Potter books?

The story behind the answer

The Resurrection Stone is contained in Marvolo Gaunt’s ring in the Harry Potter books.

Marvolo Gaunt’s ring was inherited by Tom Riddle through his mother’s family and later transformed into one of Voldemort’s Horcruxes. The ring also concealed the Resurrection Stone, one of the three Deathly Hallows described in the story of the three brothers.

Dumbledore retrieves the ring and destroys it with the Sword of Gryffindor, but not before using the stone. The artifact allows its holder to summon an appearance of the dead, although the returned figures are not restored to ordinary physical life.

The ring is often confused with Voldemort’s other Horcruxes. Slytherin’s locket, Ravenclaw’s diadem, Hufflepuff’s cup, and Nagini are separate Horcruxes. The Resurrection Stone’s location is specifically Marvolo Gaunt’s ring.
