Which Nintendo console hosted Pokémon Diamond and Pearl?

The story behind the answer

Pokémon Diamond and Pearl were released for the Nintendo DS.

The games launched in Japan on September 28, 2006, as the fourth generation of the main Pokémon role-playing series. Their design used the DS's two-screen layout, touch controls, and wireless communication features.

Diamond and Pearl introduced the Sinnoh region and new Pokémon such as Dialga, Palkia, and the starter Pokémon Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup. They also expanded online trading and battling through the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.

Another major change was the physical–special move split. Instead of classifying every move only by its Pokémon type, the games classified moves individually as physical, special, or status. The games are sometimes associated with the later Nintendo 3DS because of remakes and re-releases, but the original versions were Nintendo DS titles.
