Which New Mexico site inspired many Georgia O'Keeffe paintings and became her summer home?

The story behind the answer

Ghost Ranch inspired many Georgia O'Keeffe paintings and became her summer home.

Ghost Ranch is a dramatic area near Abiquiú in northern New Mexico, known for multicolored cliffs, mesas, and wide desert views. O'Keeffe first visited the area in the 1930s and repeatedly painted its landscape. The site became one of the clearest visual signatures of her New Mexico period.

She acquired a house at Ghost Ranch in 1940 and used it as a summer home. The surrounding land appears in paintings such as My Front Yard, Summer Days and Red and Yellow Cliffs. O'Keeffe often worked from selected views rather than attempting to document the entire landscape literally.

Ghost Ranch and Abiquiú are neighboring but separate places in O'Keeffe's story. Her Abiquiú property became her principal home and studio, while Ghost Ranch offered a more remote setting and became especially associated with the cliffs and open terrain she painted.
