Which New Mexico settlement was Georgia O'Keeffe's home from 1949?

The story behind the answer

Abiquiú was Georgia O'Keeffe's New Mexico home from 1949.

O'Keeffe moved permanently to New Mexico after Alfred Stieglitz died in 1946. She settled in Abiquiú, a historic community north of Santa Fe, and restored a house there that became one of her most important living and working spaces.

The house's adobe walls, courtyard, and distinctive black door appeared repeatedly in her paintings. She also worked at nearby Ghost Ranch, whose cliffs and expansive landscapes supplied subjects for many large paintings.

Abiquiú is often confused with Santa Fe because the city contains the museum dedicated to O'Keeffe. Santa Fe was important to her career and later legacy, but Abiquiú was the place she made her home and from which she drew many architectural motifs.
