Which New Mexico ranch did Georgia O'Keeffe purchase in 1940?

The story behind the answer

Georgia O'Keeffe purchased Ghost Ranch in 1940.

Ghost Ranch is a large property near Abiquiú in northern New Mexico. O'Keeffe first visited the area during her 1929 New Mexico trips and became captivated by its cliffs, mesas, and open spaces. She began renting a house there before purchasing the property in 1940.

The ranch supplied recurring subjects for her paintings, including the dramatic red-and-yellow cliffs of the surrounding landscape. O'Keeffe also used the isolated setting as a place to work, walk, and collect natural forms such as bones.

Ghost Ranch is sometimes confused with O'Keeffe's Abiquiú home or with Rancho de Taos, the site of the church she painted repeatedly. These places are all in northern New Mexico, but Ghost Ranch was the property she purchased in 1940 and later made closely synonymous with her Southwestern imagery.
