NFL Network nationally televised 49ers at Chargers in Week 2 of the 2026 NFL preseason.
The game was played on Thursday, August 20, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. It followed the opening Week 2 game between the Las Vegas Raiders and Houston Texans, which was carried nationally by ESPN.
The 49ers won 41–17. NFL Network has traditionally carried numerous preseason games because exhibition contests are distributed differently from regular-season games, which are more heavily divided among the major broadcast and streaming partners.
The matchup is sometimes confused with the Raiders-Texans game because both were played on the same Thursday night. Their national outlets were different: ESPN handled Raiders at Texans, while NFL Network carried San Francisco at the Chargers.
