The narrative history podcast hosted by Mike Duncan that follows revolutions from England to Russia is Revolutions.
Duncan launched Revolutions in 2013 after completing The History of Rome. Each season presents a chronological narrative of a political revolution or revolutionary wave, combining background causes, major personalities, institutions, military conflicts, and the consequences of regime change.
The series began with the English Civil War and continued through the American, French, Haitian, Spanish American, July, 1848, Paris Commune, Mexican, and Russian revolutions. The Russian Revolution was the concluding major nonfiction season of the original run, with narrative episodes ending in July 2022. Duncan’s earlier show The History of Rome is therefore a neighboring but different answer.
The podcast later returned with a fictional Martian Revolution season, an experiment built in the style of the historical series. That later development does not change the quiz’s intended answer: Revolutions is the canonical title of Duncan’s sweeping narrative history project.
