Which Narnia book features the Pevensie children’s first journey through the wardrobe?
Answer
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
Answer
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe features the Pevensie children’s first journey through the wardrobe.
C.S. Lewis published the novel in 1950, introducing Lucy, Edmund, Susan, and Peter Pevensie as they enter the magical land of Narnia through a wardrobe. There they encounter the White Witch, the faun Mr. Tumnus, and the lion Aslan while Narnia remains trapped in a winter that has lasted for years.
The book is the first published volume in The Chronicles of Narnia. Many modern editions place it first in the series’ internal chronology as well, although The Magician’s Nephew is set earlier in Narnian history and is often called a prequel.
The title is sometimes shortened informally to The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, but the full title includes all three nouns. The story’s 1950 publication also predates the later screen adaptations by several decades.
