Which Narnia book by C.S. Lewis features the voyage of the ship Dawn Treader?

The story behind the answer

The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is the C.S. Lewis Narnia book featuring the ship Dawn Treader.

Published in 1952, the novel follows Edmund and Lucy Pevensie after they return to Narnia with their cousin Eustace Scrubb. They join King Caspian aboard the Dawn Treader, which is searching for seven lords who were banished from Narnia by Caspian’s uncle, Miraz.

The voyage moves through a chain of islands and combines exploration, moral testing, and encounters with enchantment. Eustace’s transformation into a dragon is one of the book’s best-known episodes. The story also introduces Reepicheep, the courageous talking mouse, as a major character.

The title is sometimes shortened informally to Dawn Treader, but the canonical book title is The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. It is the third published Narnia novel and the fifth book in editions that arrange the series by the fictional chronology of Narnia.
