Which museum houses Georgia O'Keeffe's 1932 painting Jimson Weed/White Flower No. 1?

The story behind the answer

Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art houses Georgia O'Keeffe's 1932 painting Jimson Weed/White Flower No. 1.

O'Keeffe painted the large white jimson weed flower in 1932. The work magnifies a single bloom so that its trumpet-like form fills much of the canvas. It is one of her best-known flower paintings and exemplifies her practice of presenting natural subjects at an unusually large scale.

The painting remained in the O'Keeffe collection for decades. In 2014, Walmart heiress Alice Walton purchased it at auction for Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Arkansas, for $44.4 million. That price set a record for the highest amount paid for a work by a female artist at auction at the time.

The title is sometimes shortened to Jimson Weed, but the full title is Jimson Weed/White Flower No. 1. The museum opened in 2011 and focuses on American art.
