Which motorcycle manufacturer has the most TT wins?

The story behind the answer

Honda has the most Isle of Man TT wins among motorcycle manufacturers. Its total includes victories in both solo classes and the Sidecar TT, giving it a substantial lead in the event’s manufacturer record books.

Honda first entered the TT in 1959, when five of its motorcycles competed and earned the Manufacturers’ Team Award. The marque scored its first TT race victories in 1961, with Mike Hailwood winning the 125cc and 250cc classes. Honda later became especially dominant through riders such as Hailwood, John McGuinness and Ian Hutchinson.

A common mix-up is confusing overall TT manufacturer victories with wins in a particular historic class or period. MV Agusta led some Grand Prix-era manufacturer tables, while Yamaha and Norton also have important TT records. The answer here refers to the broad TT tally, not one individual championship category. Honda’s 2010 campaign was particularly notable: Ian Hutchinson won all five solo races held that year.
