Honda introduced the Honda VF750F in 1982 as its first V-four-powered Interceptor sport bike.
The VF750F was sold in North America under the Interceptor name and helped establish Honda’s V4 road-bike identity. Its 748 cc liquid-cooled V4 engine combined strong midrange performance with compact packaging and four-valve cylinder heads.
Honda developed the model during a period when manufacturers were using racing technology to differentiate new superbikes. The VF750F also featured a perimeter-style frame, anti-dive front suspension, and a 16-inch front wheel, giving it a distinctly modern specification for its time.
The model is often mixed up with the later VFR750F. The VFR replaced the early VF series and became a long-running sport-touring family, whereas the VF750F was the earlier Interceptor model introduced in 1982.
