Which McDonald's slogan asked customers, “Did somebody say McDonald's?”

The story behind the answer

“Did Somebody Say McDonald's?” was the McDonald's slogan that directly asked, “Did somebody say McDonald's?”

The line was used in McDonald's advertising during the late 1990s. Its question format made the brand name the punch line and created a conversational style that could fit short television commercials, radio spots, and other promotional material.

This slogan is often confused with other McDonald's campaign lines from nearby decades. “You Deserve a Break Today” belonged to an earlier advertising era, while “I'm Lovin' It” became the major global platform beginning in 2003. The wording “Did Somebody Say McDonald's?” belongs to the transitional 1990s period.

McDonald's repeatedly refreshed its advertising language while preserving familiar visual branding, including the arches and the red-and-yellow color scheme. Slogan changes therefore provide a useful way to track the company's marketing history.
