Which McDonald's mascot has a hamburger-shaped head and a striped burglar outfit?

The Hamburglar is the McDonald's mascot with a hamburger-shaped head and a striped burglar outfit. He was one of the best-known characters in the McDonaldland advertising universe.

Early versions of the Hamburglar were portrayed as a small, mischievous character whose main interest was stealing hamburgers. The character's appearance changed over time. Later redesigns made him more child-friendly, with a shorter costume and a younger look than the original version.

The Hamburglar appeared with Ronald McDonald, Mayor McCheese, Grimace, and other McDonaldland figures. These characters helped McDonald's create a recurring fantasy setting instead of relying only on product-focused advertisements.

He is often confused with Mayor McCheese because both characters appeared in the same fictional world. Their roles were different: Mayor McCheese was the burger-headed civic leader, while the Hamburglar was the recurring hamburger thief. The striped outfit is the clearest identifying feature.
