Which McDonald’s mascot has a cheeseburger for a head?

The McDonald’s mascot with a cheeseburger for a head is Mayor McCheese.

Mayor McCheese was a character in McDonaldland, the fictional world created for McDonald’s advertising in 1969. He was designed as a parody of a town mayor, wearing formal civic clothing while having a large cheeseburger as his head.

The character’s appearance connected McDonald’s food directly to the fantasy setting. Instead of merely showing a hamburger in a product photograph, the campaign turned the sandwich into a speaking civic figure with a title and personality.

Mayor McCheese is often mixed up with the Hamburglar and Grimace because all three appeared in McDonaldland advertising. The Hamburglar was associated with stealing hamburgers, while Grimace was a separate purple mascot. The cheeseburger-headed mayor is specifically Mayor McCheese.
