Which McDonald's character is the chain's purple mascot?

Grimace is McDonald's purple mascot.

The character became part of the McDonaldland cast and was known for his large, rounded purple body, friendly personality, and simple speech. Grimace appeared alongside Ronald McDonald and other characters in commercials and promotional material.

Early versions of Grimace were different from the familiar later design. The original character had multiple arms and was associated with stealing milkshakes, but McDonald's later simplified him into a gentler, child-friendly figure.

Grimace is often confused with other McDonaldland characters because the group used bold colors and exaggerated shapes. The Hamburglar wore a disguise, Mayor McCheese had a cheeseburger head, and Birdie was a yellow bird; Grimace was the purple character.
