Which McDonald’s character has a head shaped like a cheeseburger?

Mayor McCheese is the McDonald’s character with a head shaped like a cheeseburger.

He was one of the central figures in McDonaldland advertising, appearing as the town’s mayor. His oversized cheeseburger head, formal mayoral clothing, and prominent role made him one of the most visually distinctive characters in the campaign.

Mayor McCheese helped McDonald’s turn menu imagery into characters. Instead of simply showing a cheeseburger in a product shot, the advertising world gave the food a personality and placed it in stories with Ronald McDonald and other figures.

The character is sometimes confused with Officer Big Mac, whose head was shaped like a Big Mac. Mayor McCheese’s defining feature was the cheeseburger head, while the two characters served different roles in McDonaldland.
