Which McDonaldland character was portrayed as a talking cheeseburger mayor?

Mayor McCheese was the McDonaldland character portrayed as a talking cheeseburger mayor.

Mayor McCheese had a large cheeseburger for a head and wore clothing associated with a civic official, including a top hat and formal attire. He appeared in McDonald’s advertising alongside Ronald McDonald and other McDonaldland characters.

The character helped turn a menu item into a recognizable piece of brand mythology. His design also reinforced McDonald’s use of anthropomorphic food imagery, in which burgers, fries, and other products became characters with personalities.

Mayor McCheese is often mixed up with Officer Big Mac. Officer Big Mac was another McDonaldland character, but his head was shaped like a Big Mac rather than a cheeseburger. The two characters belonged to the same fictional world and appeared in related promotions.
