Which male player has the most career aces?
Answer
John Isner
Answer
John Isner
John Isner holds the men’s record for most career aces, finishing his ATP-level career with 14,470 aces.
Isner’s record grew out of one of the most powerful serves in modern tennis. At 6 feet 10 inches (2.08 meters), he used his height and precise placement to generate difficult angles and a high volume of unreturned serves. He became especially dangerous on fast courts and in tiebreaks.
Isner overtook Ivo Karlović in 2022. He hit his 13,729th ace at Wimbledon that year, moving past Karlović’s previous ATP record of 13,728. Isner later extended the mark before retiring from professional tennis after the 2023 US Open. His career also included the longest match in Wimbledon history: a 2010 first-round victory over Nicolas Mahut that lasted 11 hours and 5 minutes across three days.
Career-ace comparisons usually refer to ATP-level match statistics. Totals can differ slightly between sources when Davis Cup, Challenger matches, or other competitions are included. That statistical scope explains why older lists may still show Karlović first, but John Isner is the accepted ATP career leader.
