LVMH became Europe’s first company valued above US$500 billion in April 2023. The French luxury conglomerate reached the milestone as investors rewarded strong demand for fashion, leather goods, jewelry and premium beverages.
LVMH, whose name combines Louis Vuitton and Moët Hennessy, owns more than 70 brands, including Dior, Bulgari, Tiffany & Co. and Hennessy. Its diversified portfolio gives the group exposure to multiple luxury categories and regions.
The US-dollar threshold depends partly on exchange rates, so the same company can move above or below it without a comparable change in euro-denominated value. LVMH’s market capitalization later fluctuated with luxury-sector demand and China-related economic news.
