Which London Underground line serves both Richmond and Upminster?
Answer
District line
Answer
District line
The District line serves both Richmond and Upminster.
These two stations are at opposite ends of the District line’s wide east–west network. Richmond is in southwest London, while Upminster lies in the London Borough of Havering on the eastern edge of Greater London.
The line’s route is unusual because it has several branches in west London but converges into a main route through central London. Passengers can travel through stations such as Westminster, Embankment, and Earl’s Court before reaching one of the outer branches.
Richmond is also served by London Overground and National Rail, while Upminster has National Rail services as well as Underground trains. The District line’s service pattern can vary, so not every train travels from Richmond all the way to Upminster.
