Aslan is the lion who rules and guides the world of Narnia in C.S. Lewis’s books.
Aslan is the great lion at the center of The Chronicles of Narnia. He is portrayed as the creator and rightful ruler of Narnia, and his appearances often mark moments of moral crisis, renewal, or deliverance. Lewis presents Aslan as powerful and benevolent, but not tame or predictable.
The character appears in all seven Narnia books, although his role and visibility differ from one story to another. He guides individual characters, helps restore order, and represents the deepest spiritual meaning of the series without being reduced to a simple allegorical label.
King Caspian, Rilian, and Puddleglum are also Narnian characters, but none is the lion who serves as Narnia’s central ruler. Caspian is a human king, Rilian is his son, and Puddleglum is a Marsh-wiggle in The Silver Chair.
