Which legendary knight achieved the Holy Grail in Arthurian romance?

The story behind the answer

Sir Galahad is the legendary knight who achieves the Holy Grail in Arthurian romance. Medieval writers portray him as the purest and most spiritually worthy member of King Arthur's court.

Galahad appears prominently in the 13th-century prose romances known as the Lancelot-Grail cycle. In those stories, he joins the quest for the Grail with Sir Percival and Sir Bors. Unlike Lancelot, whose love for Guinevere prevents him from fully attaining the Grail, Galahad is presented as free from worldly sin.

Arthurian traditions vary in their details, and the Grail quest is not part of the earliest surviving legends about Arthur. It became especially influential in medieval Christian romance. Galahad's image therefore represents an ideal of spiritual knighthood more than a historically documented warrior.
