Which later Tony Hawk game reused Pro Skater 4's career-mode concept?
Answer
Tony Hawk's Underground
Answer
Tony Hawk's Underground
Tony Hawk's Underground reused Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4's open-ended career-mode concept.
Pro Skater 4 changed the series formula by removing the strict two-minute timer from its main career experience. Players explored sizeable levels freely, found characters who offered goals, and chose which challenges to attempt. That structure became the foundation for the story-driven format introduced in 2003's Tony Hawk's Underground.
Underground expanded the idea into a full narrative adventure. Players created an amateur skater, travelled through locations including New Jersey, Manhattan, Tampa, Hawaii, Vancouver and Moscow, and completed objectives tied to sponsorships and professional competition. The game also added walking, driving sections, extensive customization and a larger park editor.
A common mix-up is to credit Underground 2, American Wasteland or Project 8 as the first follow-up. Those games continued the broader structure, but Underground was the immediate 2003 successor that first reused and substantially developed Pro Skater 4's career concept.
