Dubai’s Burj Khalifa became famous for its New Year’s Eve fireworks and LED displays.
The Burj Khalifa is the world’s tallest building, standing 828 metres tall in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Its height and distinctive tapered design make it a natural centerpiece for large-scale public celebrations. New Year’s Eve events have used fireworks, lighting, lasers, and imagery projected or displayed across the tower’s exterior.
The building officially opened in January 2010, and its inaugural celebrations included a major fireworks display. Later New Year events developed into heavily watched spectacles broadcast internationally and viewed by crowds around Downtown Dubai.
The Burj Khalifa display is sometimes described simply as a fireworks show, but recent productions have combined pyrotechnics with synchronized music and façade-wide visual effects. It is also distinct from celebrations at the Burj Al Arab, another famous Dubai landmark with a sail-like silhouette.
