Which lake is famous for its bright blue color beside the town of Jiuzhaigou?
Answer
Five Flower Lake
Answer
Five Flower Lake
Five Flower Lake is the vividly colored lake at Jiuzhaigou in Sichuan, China.
Five Flower Lake, also called Wuhua Hai, is a shallow lake in Jiuzhaigou Valley National Park. Its turquoise and blue-green colors come from clear water, mineral deposits, submerged trees, and the way depth and sunlight interact beneath the surface.
Jiuzhaigou is a protected mountain landscape known for multi-level waterfalls, forested valleys, and many brilliantly colored lakes. The area became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992, recognizing its exceptional karst and alpine scenery.
The colors are natural rather than artificial, but they are not fixed year-round. Seasonal water levels, weather, viewing angle, and sediment conditions can change how the lake appears. Five Flower Lake is sometimes confused with similarly named Blue Lake attractions elsewhere, including Blue Lake in New Zealand and the Blue Lake in Mount Gambier, Australia.
