Answer
Konqueror
Which KDE browser spawned the KHTML engine? Konqueror. KHTML originated as the HTML-rendering engine of Konqueror, KDE’s versatile file manager and web browser, in the late 1990s. The project was designed to display web pages while fitting into KDE’s reusable software architecture.
Konqueror used KHTML alongside KJS, its JavaScript engine. This combination gave KDE a standards-focused browser stack and later attracted Apple’s attention. Apple forked both components to create WebKit, adapting them for Safari and macOS. KHTML therefore occupies an important place in the ancestry of several modern browser engines.
Arora, Falkon, and Rekonq are easy alternatives to confuse with the answer because they are also Qt- or KDE-associated browsers. They did not originate KHTML. Konqueror later gained support for other rendering technologies, including QtWebKit and QtWebEngine, but its original browser engine remains the historical source of KHTML.
