Which Opera browser version introduced Speed Dial in 2007?
Answer
Opera 9.2
Answer
Opera 9.2
Opera 9.2 introduced Speed Dial in 2007.
Speed Dial replaced a blank new-tab page with a 3×3 grid of thumbnail shortcuts. Users could assign favorite websites to the slots, making frequently visited pages available with a single click. The feature appeared in Opera 9.2, codenamed Merlin, rather than Opera 9.5 or Opera 10.0.
Opera 9.2 belonged to the older Presto-based generation of Opera releases. Opera 9.0 had arrived in June 2006 with features including improved SVG support, widgets, a built-in BitTorrent client, and content blocking. Opera 9.1 later added fraud protection, while 9.2 focused attention on the new Speed Dial start page.
A common mix-up comes from Opera 9.5, whose development began in 2007 and which later added the ability to synchronize Speed Dial settings through Opera Link. That version improved and integrated the feature, but it did not introduce it.
