Which Josh Gates series was nominated for Outstanding Travel and Adventure Program in 2026?

Josh Gates’s series nominated for Outstanding Travel and Adventure Program in 2026 was Expedition Unknown.

Expedition Unknown follows explorer and television host Josh Gates as he investigates historical mysteries, archaeological discoveries, lost treasures, and unusual locations around the world. The program combines travel documentary, history, field research, and adventure storytelling.

It premiered on Discovery Channel in 2015 after Gates had already become known for Destination Truth, a paranormal-travel series. That earlier show is the most likely source of confusion in this question: Gates hosted Destination Truth, but Expedition Unknown is the title nominated in 2026.

Expedition Unknown had already won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Travel and Adventure Program at the 52nd Daytime Emmy Awards in 2025. Its return to the category in 2026 reflects continuing recognition for its travel and exploration format, rather than a nomination for Gates as an individual performer.
