Which J.K. Rowling novel features the fictional detective Cormoran Strike?

The Cuckoo’s Calling is the J.K. Rowling novel that features fictional detective Cormoran Strike. Rowling published it in 2013 under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith.

Cormoran Strike is a private investigator and former military police officer. In The Cuckoo’s Calling, he investigates the death of model Lula Landry, whose case was initially treated as suicide. Robin Ellacott becomes his temporary secretary and an important partner in the investigation.

The novel is the first entry in the Cormoran Strike series. Its follow-ups include The Silkworm, Career of Evil, Lethal White, Troubled Blood, The Ink Black Heart, and The Running Grave. The books use a continuing cast while presenting separate criminal investigations.

The title is sometimes confused with The Silkworm because both are Strike mysteries, and with Career of Evil because both belong to the same sequence. Only The Cuckoo’s Calling introduces Strike and Robin’s partnership. The series has also been adapted for television as Strike.
