Lamborghini revealed the Huracán online in December 2013, and the production car made its public debut at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. Its name refers both to the Spanish word for “hurricane” and to a Spanish fighting bull known for its courage. That bullfighting connection reflects a long-standing Lamborghini naming tradition.

The Huracán was developed within the Volkswagen Group, and its chassis was assembled by Audi in Germany before being transported to Lamborghini’s headquarters in Sant’Agata Bolognese for final assembly. That corporate relationship can cause confusion: Audi and Volkswagen were parent-group companies, but the car’s marque and manufacturer identity were Lamborghini. The Huracán was later succeeded by the Lamborghini Temerario.
