Which island hosted the first four SpaceX Falcon 1 launch attempts?

The story behind the answer

Omelek Island hosted the first four SpaceX Falcon 1 launch attempts.

Omelek Island is part of the Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands. SpaceX used the island as the launch site for Falcon 1, its first orbital rocket. The remote location offered a suitable range area and access to the Pacific for orbital trajectories.

Falcon 1 launched from Omelek four times between 2006 and 2008. The first three attempts failed to reach orbit. The fourth launch, on September 28, 2008, succeeded and made SpaceX the first privately funded company to develop, launch, and successfully orbit a liquid-propellant rocket.

Omelek Island is sometimes confused with Merritt Island in Florida, which is associated with NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. Wallops Island and Kodiak Island also host launches, but neither was the site of Falcon 1’s first four attempts.
