Friends ran on NBC from 1994 to 2004 and followed six friends—Rachel, Ross, Monica, Chandler, Joey, and Phoebe—living in New York City. Its popularity continued through syndication and streaming, introducing later generations to the series long after its finale.
Swift has also referenced Friends in other ways, including performing “Smelly Cat” with Lisa Kudrow during a 1989 World Tour show. A common mix-up is confusing her all-time favorite, Friends, with shows she has named as current viewing choices at different times, such as Dateline.
