Peter Jones was part of the original five-Dragon panel when the UK series Dragons' Den began.
The first British panel consisted of Peter Jones, Duncan Bannatyne, Rachel Elnaugh, Theo Paphitis and Doug Richard. They appeared in the programme’s initial series after its launch in 2005 and established the investor roles and personalities associated with the British version.
Deborah Meaden was not on that original panel; she joined the programme later. Touker Suleyman and Sara Davies arrived much later still, after several changes to the cast. These timeline differences matter because Dragons' Den has had many investors over its long run.
